The team
THE TEAM The backbone of
Land aan Zee
Land aan Zee is an initiative of Liselotte Baeijaert and Michiel Deturck. With this non-profit organization, they create a beautiful place to make beautiful things happen to promote a warm, resilient and healthy society. Although the place is a small paradise, everything at Land aan Zee is primarily about people.
In fact, none of this beauty is possible without this fantastic team of passionate people who are committed to a warm and resilient society.
Liselotte
Staf
Liselotte and her husband Michiel are the driving force behind Land aan Zee. Together they are making a dream come true and want to create a beautiful place where people come together with the intention of restoring balance in their personal lives, in the broader society and in their relationship with nature.
Joyce
Staf
As the daughter of an Indian father and a Zeeland mother, Joyce traveled through life and around the world. Sometimes dancing, sometimes through the mud, but always passionately in contact with people, movement and nature. Over the past ten years, Joyce has been shaping her own practice in Friesland as a mindfulness and compassion trainer, yoga and dance teacher.
Joyce helps shape the House Retreats and the Basic Program of the Theme Retreats. She is also a hostess, helping hand, creative, helpful and facilitating.
‘It is my desire and passion to pass on the power and potential of mindful and heartful living. Self-care, care for each other, care for the environment. Connecting, growing and blossoming from a warm bed. Coming home. Where can this be better than at ‘Land aan Zee’?’
Nadine
Staf
Nadine is a seasoned generalist with an innate curiosity, a broad perspective, and great empathy. She has a broad interest in everything that moves people. As an independent entrepreneur, she works for both profit and non-profit organizations, in a variety of roles—both independently and as part of a team.
She is a conceptual thinker and visualizer with fresh ideas, sharp observations, and an eye for detail. Her work is driven by her own wisdom, humor, and a sense of perspective. Always with one clear goal in mind: to inspire people to take action.
At Land aan Zee, Nadine handles the daily communication and administration. She consistently finds the right words and images to bring our place and mission to life through digital channels. She also contributes in many other ways—for example, as an occasional hostess and yoga instructor.
Sofie
Staf
Mieke
Volunteer
Mieke was enthusiastic from the first moment Liselotte told her about the mission of Land aan Zee. Since the opening, she has been working as a volunteer with great pleasure. Every week she drives to the Meeldijk with fresh flowers.
In addition to caring for the flowers and plants, Mieke helps out where extra hands are needed. She also provides energetic body treatments to women in need of peace, relaxation and silence.
“My desire is to ensure that guests feel seen and heard. Together with the enthusiastic team of Land aan Zee, ensuring a pleasant living environment, that is what I like to do!”
Britte
Staf
Britte is our youngest and brand-new administrative wizzard! She moved here two years ago to live closer near the sea and has fallen in love with the area. She lives in the village with her partner and two dogs and loves yoga. In fact, she is a trained yoga teacher and will soon be teaching morning classes here at Land aan Zee. She is eager to learn and enjoys contributing to the wonderful community atmosphere that characterizes Land aan Zee.
Pim
Volunteer
Since Pim’s childhood, the tip of Schouwen has been his second home. As a 15-year-old, he even fried chips at Zeelust in the village of Westenschouwen and later helped with the construction of the Oosterscheldekering.
For many guests, this approach route marks the beginning of their arrival at Land aan Zee.
For several months now, Pim has been working at the center as a technical volunteer.
‘Taking care of Land aan Zee together with a team of passionate people is a valuable addition and fulfillment to my life.’
Ingeborg
Staf
Ingeborg grew up on the coast and has lived in Zeeland for twenty-five years now. Throughout her career, she has developed in various creative directions. She worked as an art teacher, artist, and retail stylist.
In addition, she helped set up one of Rotterdam’s first vegetarian restaurants. She later applied these skills as a vegetarian chef and natural nutrition consultant.
Land aan Zee aligns with her in a natural way. Thanks to her versatile knowledge and skills, Ingeborg is active in multiple areas within our center. However, her primary focus lies on the organization of the kitchen.
“Upon my first introduction to Land aan Zee, I was pleasantly surprised by this beautiful retreat center close to my home. I feel connected to the vision and mission of Land aan Zee and dedicate myself with joy to these goals, with gratitude for everything aimed at the well-being of others, nature, and life itself.”
